At Hike Hire we try to make the equipment hire as easy and affordable as possible. Here are some of the things you need to know:

Types of bookings

Solo/ Parent Full Kit

As a solo hiker you will need to carry all you equipment yourself, you can opt to just select the individual equipment you need or you can select the Adult hiking full kit if you want everything* taken care of.

We now have a Pro Kit which includes all the best and lightest gear options we have avalaible.

Small Groups & Families

Families couples and small groups have the luxury of being able to share some equipment. You always have the option to just hire the individual equipment you need, however we also offer flexible hiking kits. You can hire a Full Parent kit and then add-on extra basic adult/Teen or kids kits to suit your group. The difference between the full kits and the basic and add-on kits is the equipment that can be shared, i.e. tent and cooking equipment.

We also offer Group and Family kits to give you extra savings.

School & Community Groups

If you have a larger school or community group and want to make a booking, we recommend booking at least 4 weeks in advance so we have time to finalise your needs prior to your trip.

For Larger group booking we will deliver the equipment within 2 hours of Perth. We also offer to do a Hike preparation session demonstrating how to use/set-up the equipment, how to pack, what to pack and general hiking information, we recommend doing this on the day of equipment delivery. We charge $100 to do the presentation. If you need a guide for your hike this can also be aranged for an additional fee, just ask us about this when you lodge your booking enquiry.

Scout Groups

As a Cub Scout leader myself, Scouts are at the heart of most things I do. We offer special discounts to scout groups.

Booking Pricing

Booking periods

Hike Hire rents out equipment at a very affordable rate and we prefer to make weekly bookings. So if your headed away for the weekend, you have time to collect your pack, pack-it and check that everything fits before heading off on your journey. We also want to make sure you have enough time to get home after your hard days walking, rest and wash and unpack your stuff, without having to rush off the day you finish to return you pack the next day.

Our minimum baking period is 1 week, and then we charge in 1/2 week increments beyond 1 week.

The rates of hire are discounted for extended journeys of more than 4 weeks.

Delivery

To keep your costs down, we prefer that you collect and return the items to our Morley address if you are in the Perth Metro area, however depending on the booking and your location we can deliver or ship the items to you also. We are happy to arrange delivery and collection for larger group bookings. A delivery/collection or shipping fee can be discussed at the time of booking if required, but these will be kept to the minimum possible.

Damage Deposit

With each booking we charge a refundable damage deposit, incase you lose or damage the equipment, the replacement cost will be deducted from your damage deposit and the remainder returned to you. Please advise us of an loss or damage as soon as possible incase this might affect other bookings.

From time to time things get damaged and parts get lost, please don’t stress, we probably have spares and things can be repaired. Just let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

If you need to postpone or cancel your booking due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will refund the full amount if it’s more than 2 weeks before the booking, if it is within 2 weeks of the booking we will refund your full security deposit and half of the booking amount, we will then give you a credit of the other half so that you can re-book at any time. If you are not from WA we are reasonable people just chat with us 🙂

Extended Bookings

If you’re just having so much fun and you want to continue journeying further, we just ask that you give us a couple of days notice so we can sort out any booking that will be affected and so we can organise the payment for the additional hire period.

Product substitution

There may be times when a product selected needs to be substituted for another due to damage or loss, or late returns. Where possible we will replace these items with a similar or better product at no additional cost.
