Pro Ultralight inflatable sleeping mats
$50 per week
These ultralight sleeping mats are very compact and ultra-lightweight (390-410g) and comfortable. They come with an inflating bag and usually take about 5 bags to inflate fully. These mats are also thermally insulated with ratings from R1.2 – R4.2. To get the benefit of the ultralight mats you also need to consider the downside. These mats can be noisy due to the material they are made of though most people are ok with them. As with all inflatable mats there is always the risk of puncture which will leave you uncomfortable. Consider this what is right for you when selecting your gear.
Pro Self Inflating Mat (5cm)
$30 per week
These new self-inflating/ inflatable hybrids are my new go-to mat. They are a bit bulkier and heavier than the others, but the benefits easily outweigh these. You have the added peace of mind that if they are punctured you still have the foam filling to provide comfort and warmth. If you’re a person that needs a good night sleep no matter what then this mat is perfect.
